JUNIOR KELLY
‘Love So Nice’ was Junior Kelly’s game changing roots Reggae hit single in 2000 that established him as a star throughout Jamaica. Kelly’s commanding juxtaposition of precisely timed, deejayed rhymes and melodic singing, coupled with his vivid story telling abilities, took the song to the top of the Jamaican charts for 15 weeks making it the longest charting #1 hit in 2000. Known as a versatile artiste able to connect with the spirituality and social consciousness of traditional roots Reggae music as well as the gritty everyday realism of Dancehall music, Junior Kelly has perfected the balance. The artiste’s rich, multi textured one-drop rhythms propel his thoughtful lyrics into songs that stir the soul and moves the feet.
Kelly has recently returned from a series of critically acclaimed performances in Europe at Rototam in Spain, Uprising in Slovania and Bielawa in Poland as well as the Good Life Music Festival in Trinidad. Currently working in studio, the new single 'Walk A Mile' from his upcoming album due out in February 2015 on the Irie Vibrations label is well received along with his first mixtape project 'Been There' released in August.
